I usually write on this page every week or so to update our weather,
family happenings, state of the world....
Photographs are posted here also - new brides, new babies....

Bought in 1986, our house is not a palace, but it's home.
We have the best neighbour anyone could wish for
and Sara and Tim live just two doors down from us.

Patrick and I hear seagulls every morning and when we go on our daily walk we spot any number of bird species.
Some are not usually found in our neck of the woods.
They include: cormorants, loons, mute swans,
trumpeter swans, grebes, coots,
small yellow and black finches and a lonely blue egret.
We spotted a green heron during take off.
He was like an elegant, sleek aircraft, lol.
In the last little while we've had a male cardinal (brilliant red) take up residence in our back garden.
His distinctive call can be heard each day.
And we've seen a band of vultures,
dozens strong down by our city dump.
Smorgasbord, mmm!

Hello everyone.
Hope you're all well and happy.

The annual Canal Days festival begins
tonight in our little community.
The hundred year old canal wall started to crumble
last week, but after inspecting it this morning, lol,
it looks to be satisfactory.
We were more interested in customs officials boarding
two large U.S. yachts tied up in the canal.

Patrick and I have a trip to Atlantic City and
Cape May booked for September,
staying at the Tropicana Hotel.
Before that we'll be travelling to the Soo
for his brother Joe's birthday in August.
Something to look forward to.

Sadly, when my subscription runs out in December,
it means the end of my website.
Prices have escalated and with the HST
(Harmonized Sales Tax) in effect
since July 1, 2010, the cost will be even more.

Joe has returned from his annual sojourn in Thailand.
He spends most of his winter there to avoid
northern Ontario weather, but Mother Nature
fooled him this year and dumped snow on the Soo
late in the season.
